We have been able to strengthen our Kuratle Group's customer-oriented ecosystem with two companies from South Africa. We are pleased to introduce Universal Plywood & Timbers at this point.

Universal Plywood & Timbers was founded in Cape Town in 2007 by Brad Anderson. Together with his wife Ingrid, he turned the company into South Africa's leading specialist in engineered wood products and supply of hardwood and softwood timber. The company took advantage of a gap in the market for high-quality plywood products and built up an international network.

Today, Universal Plywood & Timbers is represented in all major regions, employs over 75 people and has five sales locations in Johannesburg, Durban, Ballito, Bloemfontein and Cape Town. The largest facility is their 8000m² Johannesburg warehouse. The extensive portfolio comprises 500 products, ranging from cross laminated timber panels, glulam beams and hardwood flooring through multiple species and grades of plywood to in-house manufactured decking, pergola and cladding products. In addition to its comprehensive range, the company offers custom timber processing and other machining and treatment services.

As a family-run business, Universal Plywood & Timbers stands for a culture of appreciation, partnership-based cooperation and, thanks to its certified wood products, sustainability. The company is committed to the responsible use of wood.

Under the umbrella of the Kuratle Group, the company is strengthening its role as a driver of innovation in the South African market. According to Brad Anderson, the company shares the principles and values of the Kuratle Group and attaches great importance to family and growth.

With its expertise in engineered wood product and sustainable solutions, Universal Plywood & Timbers is making a significant contribution to the further development of the South African timber industry. Among other things, a timber-framed warehouse is planned for Cape Town in the future.
