Festively laid tables, impressive words about the year 2025, commendations and an entertaining supporting programme: the Christmas dinner on 5 December brought employees, customers and partners together for an enjoyable evening in the Umwelt Arena Spreitenbach. Mascot Lotti greeted everyone in front of the main entrance.
The evening began with a delicious aperitif that invited conversation and tantalised the taste buds. Afterwards, the more than 470 guests took their seats at tables set in an atmospheric setting. The Christmas evening began with speeches by George, Corinne and Roger Kuratle.
"When the company is doing well, everyone is doing well": George Kuratle
In his welcoming address, George Kuratle recalled the anniversary celebration that we were able to celebrate in 2025. The Chairman of the Board of Directors saw this as a "bond of warmth, trust and cohesion". In the rest of his speech, he drew a bow to the past 70 years, in which much was built with "hands and hearts", as he aptly put it.
He also looked back at the Kuratle News forum, which he penned for 25 years and is a matter close to his heart. Looking ahead to the upcoming issues of the employee and customer magazine, he outlined that Corinne, Roger, Fabian and he will share the writing of the forum.
"Cohesion, enthusiasm and heart": Corinne Kuratle
In her welcoming address, Corinne Kuratle recalled her grandfather Alfred Kuratle, who, with the support of Erika Kuratle, laid the foundations for today's Kuratle Group with comprehensive solutions in retail, production and logistics. She also looked back on the two-day anniversary celebrations to mark 70 years of company history. Finally, on this Christmas Eve, she called on everyone to celebrate exactly what makes us special: "Cohesion, enthusiasm and heart."
"We only trust, perform and succeed together": Roger Kuratle
Roger Kuratle also began his speech by looking back at his family and remembering his great-uncle Max Höchli, who had passed away shortly before. He then went on to talk about the challenging year 2025 and reviewed the economic year.
Looking back on the past few months, he emphasised the opportunities that good leadership offers. "The responsibility lies with the management," he said. In addition to efficient processes and interfaces, a common understanding of leadership is needed. This is precisely what can increase customer benefit. In order to achieve an increase here, "we have to be close to our customers," he concluded.
With the investments made in the past year behind him, Roger Kuratle looked to the future with optimism. "Let's move mountains, let's develop the timber industry further," he proclaimed optimistically. We are all challenged. After all, even in the age of AI, it is still "working from person to person".
Honouring the jubilarians
During the evening, a presentation showed the most important milestones of the year. One of the highlights of the Christmas evening was undoubtedly the honouring of our employees who have been with the company for ten years or more.
Hans-Peter Brechbühl and Werner Käser, two employees who have been with the company for 40 years, were honoured. An impressive seven employees were presented with a festive flower arrangement on stage for 35 years with the company. In total, there were over 1000 years of service on the stage - an impressive picture. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their loyalty and commitment.
Magic was in the air
The accompanying programme included performances by Prof. Bubbles. His astonishing tricks demonstrated what is possible with soap bubbles. "Good humour guaranteed" was the motto of the photo box. Wigs, hats and glasses invited visitors to dress up and take photos. Unforgettable souvenir photos were taken in an exuberant atmosphere.
The Christmas evening came to a convivial end with the bar. Mascot Lotti - set up in front of the main entrance to welcome everyone - also bid everyone farewell and sent the guests off into the pre-Christmas season in a festive mood.
