During the Interbuild Africa 2016 exhibition from 17 to 20 August, the established Wood Conference gathered industry, role players in Johannesburg for the first time to look at “Wood as a modern building material”. The founder, George Kuratle, was happy to conclude the first Wood Conference in Johannesburg, which took place on the 17th August, perfectly organized by Zaida Davids. More than 60 delegates participated and it only had positive feedback about the quality of the content.
Wood Conference, Cape Town has established itself as one of the most important conferences on sustainable construction in the green building concept in South Africa, having drawn over 400 delegates to its forum earlier this year. Due to the positive resonance in Cape Town, the success story of the Wood Conference continued in Johannesburg on 17 August 2016.
The conference, which offered delegates Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points, was organized by the Wood Conference members. It gave architectural and engineering professionals, builders, investors, designers, teachers and students from across the country first-hand opportunity to refresh their knowledge of timber technology, architecture, science and standards, to assist in optimally covering the customer’s specific and cultural needs of South Africa.
