Our mission statement

Vision and mission

The needs and satisfaction of our partners in the areas of structural timber construction, decorative interior fittings and flooring, as well as those of our DIY store and specialist retail partners, are always our top priority, along with the wishes of our customers. Thanks to our national and international orientation with various partner companies, we are opening up new markets and expanding our product range. As the Kuratle Group, we unite several companies under one roof with our core expertise in solutions all-around timber. With this synergy benefit in trade, production and logistics, we tailor our services individually to our customers. The basis for this is the Kuratle Group's mission. We realise customer wishes competently, reliably and sustainably.

Our values

Our values describe how we implement our mission of "solutions all-around timber" and how we fulfil the needs and satisfaction of our customers and partners.

Competent

Our customer-oriented expertise in solutions all-around timber can be broken down as follows: With our know-how, we always offer our customers holistic solutions. At the same time, we work in a solution-oriented manner in the interests of our clients. And we connect two worlds, as we are there for our customers both regionally and internationally.

Reliable

When it comes to reliability, we focus on three points: Firstly, we show our full commitment to our customers. Secondly, we live our enthusiasm for timber and our fascination with this material every day. Thirdly, on this basis, we have built up decades of experience from which our customers benefit.

Sustainable

Sustainability is not just an empty phrase for us. The renewable raw material wood commits us to the sustainable orientation of our company. With a long tradition, we have a keen sense of the tasks that lie ahead. That is why we always take a forward-looking approach to protecting forests, wood and the environment. We plan and act responsibly, taking environmental factors into account. And we attach great importance to working together in partnership.

The brand ambassador of the Kuratle Group

I am Lotti

I'm a big wooden cow - three metres high - and made from the finest Swiss wood. I've been travelling as an ambassador for the Kuratle Group since 2019. You may already know me from trade fairs, events or from our stories.

I stand for three things that are particularly close to my heart:

  1. Tradition - I am deeply rooted in the Swiss timber industry. I stand for reliability, down-to-earthness and appreciation of our craft.
  2. Versatility - I show you how diverse the Kuratle Group is: from trade to production to logistics - we can adapt to any task.
  3. Foresight - I am curious about the future and promote sustainable construction, digitalisation and innovative ideas.

My task?

I make the Kuratle Group approachable, understandable and distinctive for everyone - whether for employees, customers or partners. I playfully explain how we are structured, connect people with each other and bring our values to life.

Milestones at a glance

We write history

When Alfred Kuratle founded the sole proprietorship Kuratle AG in Laufenburg in Aargau in 1955, he had no idea that he would lay the foundations for today's Kuratle Group. In 1974, his son George Kuratle joined the family business and took over his parents' company at the beginning of the 1990s - a groundbreaking step to this day. George Kuratle recognised early on that the market was demanding products and services that could not be met by a single trading company. This led to mergers and integrations. The company grew. Decisions such as these laid the foundations for meeting market needs precisely in the future. True to the company credo of offering customers solutions all-around timber in trade, production and logistics, the company finally expanded abroad.

The history of the Kuratle Group

Sustainable solutions all-around timber

As a globally active family business, we live the holistic implementation of environmentally friendly and resource-saving aspects. We implement our sustainability concept at various levels:

  • We use timber from producers in certified forests.
  • We construct new buildings using timber. When expanding existing buildings, we rely on new charging stations for improved electromobility.
  • We use production waste to heat our sites.
  • We want to further develop the industry for our customers. That is why we are committed to fruitful collaboration with associations and universities of applied sciences.
  • With the annual Wood Conference in Cape Town, we are committed to promoting sustainable construction in South Africa.
