A separate room just for dressing? What sounds like a dream to many became a reality in this property: a Basel joinery created a real piece of jewellery using decorative panels from Pfleiderer (Swissline collection) and Shinnoki. Kuratle & Jaecker plus Meier Logistik supplied solutions from a single source.

The elegant dressing room was realised in a private flat last summer. The aim was to create a high-quality dressing room with a calm, warm and cosy effect.

Visually, the shelves and centre islands were to blend into the overall look of the flat thanks to their clear lines (without visible details such as fittings). Another focus was on functionality. The room is now used on a daily basis. The materials used should therefore be durable and easy to clean. And the new storage space to be created? It should be generous, but not overload the room.

With all of these requirements in mind, the G. Signoretti joinery from Basel set about planning, manufacturing and installing: "The dressing room was planned in such a way," reveals Managing Director Giovanni Signoretti, "that it makes everyday life as pleasant as possible: clearly organised, easily accessible and perfectly tailored to the habits of the users."

The asymmetrical layout was clever. The shelves are different sizes because they have been customised for different items of clothing. Whether shirts, jumpers or accessories - there is a place for everything and everything is organised almost automatically.

Glass doors also protect the items inside and give the dressing room a tidy appearance. Decorative panels from two different manufacturers were chosen to achieve the desired mix of style and function.

Double top with style: Pfleiderer and Shinnoki

Two decorative boards from Pfleiderer from the Swissline collection were used: XPSM and OrganicBoard Pure P2. Both surfaces were chosen in elegant black and were used in all interior areas.

As they are robust, colour-stable and easy to clean, they were primarily placed on the carcasses and interior surfaces of the furniture, where a hard-wearing surface is important. In fact, the super-matt anti-fingerprint surface of the XPSM composite panel has oleophobic (i.e. grease and dirt-repellent) properties. The synthetic resin is extremely scratch-resistant.

OrganicBoard Pure P2 is the most ecological board on the market. Another positive experience for the fabricator was its extremely good workability. "The clean edge patterns also catch the eye and are very pleasing," says Giovanni Signoretti, praising Pfleiderer's OrganicBoard Pure P2.

The decisive advantage of the boards from Shinnoki lies in the very natural real wood look. This contributes greatly to the harmonious and elegant effect of the dressing room. "At the same time, Shinnoki eliminates the disadvantages of solid wood," adds the managing director of the Basel joinery. "There is no warping of the material or colour differences as with solid wood with Shinnoki."
