Future Day at the Kuratle Group

14.11.2025

We welcomed 17 children to the Kuratle Group on this year's Future Day. The aim of the day was to give the children an exciting and varied insight into the world of work and to familiarise them with our industry and the professions related to wood.

All children had the opportunity to either spend the day with their accompanying adult in the individual departments or take part in the supporting programme in Leibstadt. Twelve children opted for the supporting programme and spent the day together.

Insight into the supporting programme in Leibstadt

After a joint morning snack – and thus well fortified – we started the day with a presentation about the Kuratle Group by Corinne Kuratle, Head of People & Culture. She introduced our company and our values and explained to the children how diverse and important wood is as a raw material for the economy. The children received information about the individual departments, their tasks and the history
of the Kuratle Group.

After the presentation, we went to our warehouse, which clearly impressed the children. During the tour led by Edmond Kolonja, Warehouse Manager in Leibstadt, and Valton Destani, Logistics Apprentice EFZ, they were able to see how the warehouse processes work and how the materials are sorted and prepared for our customers.

A particular highlight for the children was sitting on one of our forklifts, enjoying the view from the cab of a truck and walking through the somewhat mystical underground emergency exit. The underground catacombs were then discussed at length over lunch. Interesting and funny ideas emerged about how the long tunnel could be used in creative ways.

After lunch, the children were allowed to make a wooden ‘three-in-a-row’ game in the workshop with Patrik Kramer, a member of the workshop and maintenance team. Whether sanding, hammering or packing, the children were able to demonstrate their manual skills. The children were particularly impressed by the packaging system and the laser cutting. Everyone was very impressed by the speed and the many possibilities.

At 3 p.m., the children returned to their chaperones in the individual departments and were able to talk about their experiences.

Future Day at the Kuratle Group was a complete success for everyone involved. The pupils were able to get to know the company and the variety of professions in the wood and construction industry in a playful and practical way.

It was wonderful to see how interested and curious the children were. We hope that they will have fond memories of this day, and perhaps in two or three years' time we will be able to welcome some of them back to find out more about apprenticeships with us.

A big thank you to everyone involved who committed to Future Day and made it possible for the children to have an exciting day at the Kuratle Group.
