Precision at the controls and safety on the hook: in mid-May, part of our production team completed intensive training in the area of indoor cranes and slinging loads. The focus was not only on legal regulations, but above all on the practical handling of our new infrastructure.
Occupational safety is not a theoretical construct at HTA Mittelland AG, but an everyday reality. To ensure that our production team always has everything under control, even with heavy loads, a special all-day training course was organised under the expert guidance of Würth Innovation AG. As Würth Innovation AG already supervises our forklift courses for the Group, we were once again able to count on their proven expertise and practical training.
Morning: Theory that moves
The day started in the meeting room with the theoretical foundation. For the four participants from production, it was about far more than just paragraphs. The focus was on the current SUVA guidelines for handling cranes.
The topic of "attaching loads"was discussed particularly intensively:
- How do I determine the exact centre of gravity?
- What effect does the angle of inclination have on the load-bearing capacity of the chains and straps?
- When does a sling have to be replaced immediately due to wear?
Afternoon: Premiere on the new "Simi" crane
The theoretical part was followed by the highlight of the day in the production hall. This is where our new indoor crane "Simi" from Gersag Krantechnik AG was used. Under the watchful eye of course instructor Beat from Würth Innovation AG, what had been learnt was put directly into practice.
A special course was set up to sharpen the participants' dexterity and sensitivity for the controls. The challenge was to manoeuvre loads precisely through bottlenecks and immediately compensate for swaying movements by anticipatory steering. The participants showed great skill and learnt about the new crane's sophisticated sensor technology in detail.
Oliver Bucher, Managing Director HTA Mittelland, on the organisation of the training course:
"The safety of our employees is our top priority. With training courses like this, we ensure that our team not only works efficiently, but above all accident-free."
A conclusion for safety
At the end of the day, all four participants were able to consolidate their knowledge and demonstrate the necessary skills for daily use on the indoor crane. We would like to thank Würth Innovation AG for their usual professional organisation and the participants for their dedicated participation.
We wish our production team continued "good lifting" and safe working at all times with the new "Simi" indoor crane and the tried-and-tested Balzkran!
