Marco Hagmann heads up our HR department and the Kuratle Academy. However, he hasn’t been with the company for very long. What impressions has he already gained of the Kuratle Group in this short time? What has particularly impressed him? In his report, he describes his experiences.
I can clearly remember that Monday morning, 2 March 2026. It was still a little too early to start my first day as Head of HR & Academy at the Kuratle Group. I spent the time remaining before my 8 am start in Building B in Leibstadt taking a walk along the Rhine – a very refreshing walk, as the temperature of 7° was a good 25° cooler than it is now as I write these lines. Consequently, I was glad to be able to step into the warm building to start work, whilst at the same time curious to see what sort of world I would encounter at my new employer.
Four months on, I can already answer this very clearly in many respects: with the staff at the Kuratle Group, you find yourself
– in a positive sense – ‘on the wrong track’ (admittedly, it took some getting used to that people in the timber industry self-deprecatingly call themselves ‘blockheads’…).
Regardless of role or location, I’ve got to know numerous fascinating, helpful and dedicated people. This open culture has had a positive impact on my day-to-day work right from the start – every single day. Everywhere you go, doors are open and people are willing to listen. I particularly remember the lorry deliveries with Daniel in the Bernese Oberland, the customer visits with Jens in the Basel region, and the visit to the exhibition with Agron in Monthey.
Pulling together for the benefit of our clients
For me, it is precisely this diversity in terms of functions, regions, topics and challenges that sets the Kuratle Group apart. Despite – or rather, because of – this diversity, our shared commitment to our clients remains at the heart of everything we do, day in, day out.
Time and again, I see how we work together across all our companies – as part of our ecosystem – to find effective solutions and creative ways to deliver the best possible service. A strong sense of commitment, combined with a healthy dose of down-to-earthness and a generous pinch of humour, enables us to move forward together and achieve our ambitious goals.
Helping to shape a valuable culture: HR at the Kuratle Group
For me, it is a privilege to work alongside my fantastic team every day on behalf of our staff. Through dialogue with people from all areas of our group of companies, we are able to experience and help shape this valuable culture and strong sense of camaraderie time and time again. I look forward to all future encounters and to working together to take the Kuratle Group forward.
