The Kuratle Group is supporting the new special exhibition ‘The Enormous Wonders of the Insect World’ at Umwelt Arena Schweiz with engraved information panels made from Swiss timber.
What do a grasshopper, a wild bee and a stag beetle have to do with Swiss timber? In the new special exhibition ‘The Enormous Wonders of the Insect World’ at Umwelt Arena Schweiz, quite a lot.
Since 9 September 2026, the special exhibition in Spreitenbach has been inviting visitors to discover the fascinating world of insects from a new perspective. The focus is on five insect sculptures made from local timber, each up to three metres tall: a grasshopper, a butterfly, a stag beetle, a ladybird and a wild bee. They represent different habitats and illustrate the important role insects play in biodiversity and functioning ecosystems.
Knowledge conveyed through Swiss wood
Information panels next to the individual sculptures provide interesting facts about the lifestyle, distribution, habitat and ecological significance of each insect. As a long-standing exhibition partner, the Kuratle Group supported the special exhibition with custom-made panels crafted from Swiss timber.
The panels were produced at our BUZ, and delivery to the Umwelt Arena was handled by Meier Logistik. This project thus exemplifies how the areas of expertise within the Kuratle Group ecosystem interlock: from the processing of wood as a raw material to its reliable delivery to the site.
The information was engraved directly into the wood. The result is a high-quality and durable solution that blends harmoniously into the overall concept of the exhibition. The panels convey knowledge whilst also showcasing the diverse expertise within the Kuratle Group.
A long-standing partnership for hands-on sustainability
Support for the special exhibition forms part of the long-standing collaboration between the Kuratle Group and Umwelt Arena Schweiz. Together, the partners help to convey sustainability issues in a way that is understandable, practical and hands-on.

The special exhibition ‘The Enormous Wonders of the Insect World’ can be seen at the Umwelt Arena Schweiz in Spreitenbach until 28 March 2027. A visit to the special exhibition is included in the standard admission price.
